- minimum and maximum shift portions of each physician
- proximity to the location of the incident shall be kept short
- preferences of the physicians for certain shifts (time of the year or periodic repeats …) shall be allowed if possible

Development of a mathematical optimization model that takes into account all restraints and propositions; development of a data base comprising all in- and output data for the model that saves the optmization results as shift schedules;
